The Indian Railway Minister Shri Suresh Prabhu want to take a move to connect all of the eight state and capitals of the northern-east region to promote tourism in the country. This Indian Railway connectivity would make traveling easier and more people could move across these countries peacefully.
When these eight state and capital are connected via Indian Railways, there are many other sectors that would get additional benefits. Some of the areas include:
- Handicraft of the region,
- Horticulture, and much more.
Shri Suresh Prabhu has further revealed that he would soon be visiting Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh to take some decision on this subject matter.
It is expected that this project would need an investment of around Rs.3-3.5 lakh crore whereas earlier in the previous year, expectations were around Rs 35,000-40,000 crore.
