Indian Railways is planning to use GPS-enables Fog safety devices in order to ensure Indian Railway trains run at the right time this winter season. These safety devices will alert train pilots about the upcoming fog situations and help them to move safer on the tracks.
According to the reports received from one of the officials from Indian railways, this GPS-enabled device would ensure more safety and advanced warning clauses.
Indian Railways have started giving these devices and more than 2,400 of such devices have already been given to the Northern section of our country where the trains are likely to face the fog-problems more.
With the news of rising fog coming from Northern India, this step by Indian Railways would make sure that the passengers travel safely in fog.
Out of the 2,400 devices given to the Northern India, almost 900 have been handed over to the Delhi zone.
Fogmen would also be deployed by the Indian Railways who will alert the loco pilot and let him or her understand the fog situation of the upcoming station.
More of the Railway Officials will carry on with the intense night foot plate inspection and go for patrolling in order to find out the track fractures or any other kind of the track or the train ambiguities.
As of now, signaling system is automatic. It will be converted to the semi-automatic signaling system to control fog situations in a better way.
Indian Railways have always taken measures to add security of the passengers who travel through it.
Gps-enabled devices, walkie-talkie sets to the staff and the crew members, signal indication booklet for loco pilots, and frequent counseling sessions for fog management would be given to the members who are directly or indirectly connected to the Indian Railways.
With the fog comes problems like shortage of working staff, long working hours, slow speed of the train, highly dis-organized time-table, heavy crowd, and much more.
To resolve these issues to some extent, Indian Railways have planned to give walkie-talkie sets to the staff members and the crew members. They are planning to impose strict speed limits on the train so that situation can come under the control.
From years, fog is affecting the northern section of our country. It brings workers, students, officers, and many other professionals to a stand-still. This is the time when the pilots have to be extra careful and active all the time.
Train delays are the common issues that passengers have to face in winters due to fog.
To say Good Bye to all of these issues, Indian Railways have taken a step to introduce GPS-enabled devices that would make sure that the passengers are safe even when the fog level is very high.
With the coming winter season and winters at its peak, it is very important to take measures to provide additional safety to the passengers. Hopefully, GPS-enabled device would give you a safer traveling experience. If you are planning to travel via Indian Railways this winter season then you can feel safe.
