Indian Railways has been improving its services. A big thanks to our Railway Minister Shri Suresh Prabhu who has started thinking about improving the services given to the passengers.
After regular complaints from the passengers on the quality of food being served to them, Indian Railways have planned to improve the food quality by changing the food menu. To improve the food quality, this is the first and the most important step towards development.
When a passenger books his or her ticket it is definite that he or she would expect to get good food as well. But as of now, the quality of food has been degraded and the now Indian Railways is planning to work on this.
According to the fastest reports collected from the sources, Indian Railways is planning to copy the food menu from the airlines. So, passengers traveling through Indian Railways can expect to eat food with a quality matching that of an airline. Flight food is considered light and healthy.
A Railway committee was set up to decide on this project. After the committee meeting, a report has been submitted to the railway board. Reports say that the meeting results and the board decision will finalize about the final decision of the railways.
However, passengers mustn’t forget that airline fare is costlier than the Indian Railways so when they are expecting to get the food quality like airlines they will have to pay more for the ticket. So, we can say that after the new menu from the board is finalized, passengers may have to pay more.
In the committee meeting, it was decided that Indian Railways will offer ready to eat food only. The new food menu will not contain any of the gravy food items so dry and healthy food at more price.
According to the committee suggestions, train passengers would be served veg biryani, rajma and rice, hakka noodles, Rice and laddo, etc like things.
As per recent figures of Rajdhani and Shatabdi like trains, Indian Railways have given passengers, the option to take or not take food. After this, there was a drop of 20% in the ticket booking and passengers rejected to this offer.
This new food menu system has already been started on a trial basis on the tracks of Delhi to Firozpur Shatabdi and Bihar Sampark Kranti trains.
Last Month, Railways took another trail by seeking online customer feedback through forms on the tabs.
Just like this Tablet, over 100 would be handed over to the on-board supervisors so that online feedback can be taken from the passengers who are taking and consuming this food while on the board. Different zonal supervisors have been trained to take this feedback from the customers to know about the outcome of this chance.
Under this customer feedback form, a passenger mentions about the quality of food, how the train staff behaved with them, and many other issues that passengers used to face earlier.
For the first time,, this customer feedback form trail through tablets was taken on the tracks of Ahmedabad to Delhi Rajdhani Train.
